Our Year 8 Gaelic boys’ team enjoyed their first competitive outing on Friday, competing in the Kevin Smith tournament at St Malachy’s High School. The boys made a great start in the plate competition, defeating St Joseph’s 3.4 to 1.3, before going on to complete a clean sweep of the group stage with victories over St Malachy’s, Red High, Rathmore and St Patrick’s.
Although they fell short in the semi-finals, with a narrow two point defeat to St Mark’s, the boys can be very proud with their battling performance. They showed a lot of promise. Our standout players were captain Dara McGrath, Chris Adair and Jack White.
A big thank you to St Malachy’s for the invitation and well done to their Sixth Formers who organised the event.
