Newry bus - scheduled to depart Newry and Warrenpoint at normal times and depart from Rostrevor Square at 8:10am. Students will be picked up in Rostrevor at the bench in front of Jovie’s coffee shop for onward travel to Shimna via Hilltown and Bryansford. In the afternoon, the bus will leave from Shimna at approximately 3:25pm and travel back to Rostrevor via Bryansford and Hilltown and onward to Warrenpoint and Newry.
Kilkeel bus - scheduled to depart from Kilkeel Bus Station at 8:30am and travel via an alternative route to the next stop at the bottom of the Council Road and onward to Newcastle. The morning pick up times between Kilkeel and Newcastle are expected to be delayed by up to 45 minutes. In the afternoon, the bus to Kilkeel will leave Shimna at approximately 3:30pmand travel to the bottom of the Council Road and then take an alternative route to Kilkeel Bus Station.
Students who usually board the bus between Rostrevor and Kilkeel should make their way to Rostrevor Square or Kilkeel Bus Station as there will be no pick ups between Rostrevor and Kilkeel.
Translink has advised that whilst the road closures remain in place at Rostrevor and Kilkeel, delays to morning pick up and afternoon drop off times are inevitable.
We will monitor the arrangements closely on Monday and will be liaising with Translink daily.
