This term, it has been our privilege to host Ana and Elena, two students from Spain. They’ve made a hugely positive impression during their time with us and we are sorry to see them go. Still, it’s not adios, more like hasta luego. We hope they will come back and visit one day.
Here is a farewell message from them both.
“Hi everyone!
We are Ana and Elena. We are from Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands - which are part of Spain. We came to Northern Ireland to experience life in a new country. Now that our time here is ending, we want to share our experience with you.
We arrived here on the 31st of August. We were a bit scared because we didn’t know how it was going to be. We have to say that we didn’t have lots of high expectations, but we were wrong, everyone here is fantastic and really nice!
At the beginning it was very difficult, because we knew that we weren’t going to see our family for a long time – we felt a bit homesick. However, with all the new people we had met and friends we had made, we were able to adapt very quickly. We have to mention how happy we are to have had this experience at Shimna. Everyone is perfect. We also are really impressed by the kindness of every teacher, the cooks and the support staff.
We have enjoyed this experience so much and we will miss our life here, but we are also excited to see our family and friends. We have made the most of it and we hope to have another opportunity like this in future.
Thank you all!”
