Year 11 student Toby Crothers has made a tremendous start to his competitive chess career. Having joined the Ulster Chess Union (UCU) circuit in October, he has already registered second and third-place finishes in tournaments held in Bangor and Belfast. The FIDE accredited tournaments welcome competitors of all ages, making Toby’s achievement all the more impressive. Toby has his sights firmly set on securing his first tournament victory in the near future.
