The sky’s the limit for Shimna’s budding astronomers

Earlier this week, the Irish Astronomical Association visited the College as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations. Andy McCrea gave a fantastic presentation to our Year 8 students on astronomy and the night sky.

Our students were fascinated by all things Space, from black holes to the northern lights. Andy’s presentation sparked their curiosity about our solar system and they came away thinking ‘space is so cool and so big, with so much still to explore!’

Thank you, Andy, for inspiring the next generation of space scientists.
