The Bar Mock Trial Competition

Sixth Form students from Shimna Integrated College participated in the Bar Mock Trials Competition on Saturday 12 March. Due to restrictions, this year’s competition took place via Zoom but, to their credit, the students adapted quickly to the revised format. Shimna’s team of barristers argued their cases convincingly and our witnesses acted with dramatic flair. Throughout this process the students demonstrated their ability to work as a team, solve problems and improvise. They made a valiant effort and are a credit to the school.

Shimna’s team, pictured here with History Teacher and coach, Mr Chris Smyth, consisted of Alice Ballentine, Uisce Daley, Malakai James, Conor Mahon, Sophie Manley, Erin Mawdsley, Abhainn Nancy O’Baoill, Mia Pobloth, Felix Robbins and Katie Waddell. Sophia Susay-Quinn was unable to attend on the day but played her part in the run-up to the event.
