Shimna students compete at Ulster Schools' Athletics Multi-Event Championships

Well done to Mila Asruc-Kidd, Eve McNamara, Fahlin Murphy-Mc Kibben, Orán O’Hare and Parisa Susay-Quinn for their competitive efforts at the Ulster Schools' Athletics Multi-Event Championships last week. All students performed competitively in five athletic events through out the day. The girls participated in the high jump, long jump, shot putt, 75m hurdles and 800m. The boys competed in the 75m Hurdles, shot putt, long jump, 200m and 800m.

Eve Mc Namara was fifth place overall in the girls’ competition. She narrowly missed out on qualifying outright for All-Ireland Championships by one place, but has been placed on the reserve list. Parisa Susay-Quinn was thirteenth place and Mila Astruc-Kidd was twenty-fourth. In the boys event, Fahlin Murphy-McKibben finished in eighteenth place. Orán O’Hare performed well but was unfortunately unable to participate in the 800m.
