Year 12 student Emily Nicholls gave a stellar performance at the NI Social Media Awards in the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Saturday night. Emily, who attends musical theatre classes at Mourne Stars in Newcastle, sang for an audience that included local celebrities and social media influencers. Along with two other singers, Emily performed a medley of songs about empowerment and overcoming adversity before giving a solo rendition of the Alicia Keys hit, ‘This Girl is on Fire’.
Clare McAvoy, who runs Mourne Stars, said: “Emily’s stage presence was outstanding, and her voice was worthy of the praise she received afterwards.”
Looking back on the event, Emily said “I had the best time ever!”
