Ciaran Milligan, who leads our Resilience Programme, joined a Child Grief Awareness Roundtable Event at Stormont on Monday. As a Board Member of the NI Schools Bereavement Programme, Ciaran is working with the Marie Curie Trust, Cruse, the Child Bereavement Network and the Education Authority on proposals for grief education to be formally included in the Northern Ireland school curriculum.
The event, which was sponsored by Nick Mathison MLA and co-sponsored by Diane Dodds MLA and Pat Sheehan MLA, heard expert testimonies on the impact of bereavement on children and young people, and how changes to policy and the school curriculum to better support those affected by grief.
