Shimna’s Environmental Stewards visit Castlewellan Forest Park

Mr Leckey writes: “Shimna students participating in our Environmental Stewardship Programme had a fantastic day out at Castlewellan Forest Park. We identified many moth species, all of which were caught in a live capture trap. We released them all back into the park afterwards, though some moths were reluctant to leave their new friends.

Our students also enjoyed a walk up Slievenaslat, identifying some local species, and cutting back invasive plants with the park's garden team!”
