Shimna hosted a workshop for teachers across the country about children coping with grief. Lost Voices, led by Cruse Bereavement Support and Marie Curie, provides teachers with the tools to help students find coping mechanisms and provide a listening ear.
“One child in every classroom in Northern Ireland will experience the death of someone close to them by the time they leave school,” says Ciaran Milligan, Resilience Programme Lead at Shimna Integrated College.
“We wanted to host and participate in Lost Voices to help support our students who are living with grief.”
