Shimna's cricket programme came to a close this week with two inter-school matches. Over the past 12 weeks, the boys and girls of Shimna have been coached by Jeff Maguire and South African pro Marco Wyngard as part of our extra-curricular cricket programme.
In the girls game, the 'Shimna Goats' won the game with captain Sophie Mayers named player of the match for her 52 runs. 'Shimna Belles' was captained by Abigail Turley, who was awarded best all-rounder of the programme.
The second game saw the boys showcase their equally impressive skills. The 'Cool Cricketers' beat 'Jeff's Dream Team' in the last over of the day. Best performances on the day came from Tom Heaney-Sloan, Porter Headley and winning captain Max Whittaker.
