Save the date - Wednesday 29 November- Gordon Wilson Lecture

The first Gordon Wilson Lecture will take place in the Assembly Hall on Wednesday 29 November at 7.00 pm. Students, parents and carers, staff and members of the wider Shimna community are very welcome to attend this special event.

Our speaker for the inaugural lecture is Martin Tierney. His talk, ‘From Fear to Hope: the Kindness of Strangers’, is an incredible and uplifting story.

Gordon Wilson, guest of honour when construction of the current school started on the Lawnfield site thirty years ago, performed the sod cutting on Friday 5th August 1994. We thank his family for agreeing to our request to set up a memorial lecture in his name.

This is not a ticketed event but a sign-up form will be posted next week.
