Credit to the admirable individuals who spent the weekend at Shimna, undertaking a first-aid training course led by Raymond Shannon and his son Andrew.
The group included local residents, and volunteers from BASAP ski instructors, Castleblaney Scouts, Newry, Mourne & Down Council, Keeping Northern Ireland Beautiful and Wandering Wild Forest Schools Ballynahinch. It was impressive to see such dedication from all involved. A special mention goes to Emily, the youngest participant. Emily is a P7 student at Newcastle Primary.
We look forward to welcoming Raymond back next month, when he will be delivering training to our Duke of Edinburgh students.
