Our local Foodbank, The Pantry, is supporting more and more families in the area, due to the rising cost of living, but unfortuately at Christmas, need increases while donations drop. The Shimna Amnesty Group wants to do something about this. They are asking for your help with their ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ campaign to support The Pantry in its vital work.
We are challenging each form class to collect items for the Pantry - non-perishable goods such as tinned foods, tea, coffee, pasta, rice, biscuits, toiletries. In the month of December, we hope to exceed our target of 30 boxes. What we would like you to do is to support us by sendng in one or two of these items, so students can fill the box put in their form rooms; rather than taking, they're giving something back...hence reverse advent calendar!
Thank you to everyone who has donated so generously already. Next Thursday is the last day to contribute to the campaign.
