Shimna Integrated College welcomes new Principal

Newly appointed Principal of Shimna Integrated College, Steve Pagan, has taken up his post on 15th November 2021.

Welcoming him to the role, Chair of the Board of Governors, Denise Medea, said: “We are so pleased to welcome Steve to Shimna and very much look forward to working with him.


Steve brings to the role extensive experience and a real commitment to the ethos of integrated education.

This is a fresh and exciting time for the College with the prospect of a new building and the continued delivery of a high level, holistic learning experience for all our students.”

Speaking about his new position, Mr Pagan said: “I am delighted to be joining Shimna Integrated College as Principal.

What marks Shimna out is our integrated ethos, driven by our steadfast belief in equality and the intrinsic value of different cultures. The determination to educate together young people from different faiths and backgrounds continues to be so relevant and so crucial.”


He added: “I look forward to working with my colleagues, the wider Shimna family and our local community to ensure that we provide our students with an outstanding education. We always aim to give each and every one of them the best possible start in life, where they can gain academic achievement and develop their character.

It is an honour to follow in the footsteps of the College’s founding Principal Kevin Lambe, and I am grateful for the legacy he has bequeathed.

With the prospect of a new school building on the horizon, these are exciting times for the College. I very much look forward to continuing to promote a vision of a better future for all.”
