New chapter begins as Shimna takes possession of new school

A historic day in the College’s history. Earlier this afternoon, Glasgiven Contracts handed over the new school building to the College, completing Phase 1. They have done an amazing job in turning Ian Burtney’s vision into reality. We look forward to working with them over the rest of the year to complete the project, finishing off with the new sports hall complex.

Over the next week, work will continue to prepare classrooms for the return of students on Monday 24 February. A massive thank you to the Glasgiven team, EdIS, Capita, DS Removals and all the other sub-contractors for their enormous efforts over the past few weeks, helping to minimise the timeframe of the move over. A special mention too to the Shimna team - Paul Ferguson, Robbie Mulholland, Margaret Rowntree, Daniel Quinn, Felix Robbins and Caleb Crory - for their herculean efforts over the past few weeks.
