Today, our Junior Girls Netball team competed in the NI League Division 1 Blitz. They finished in a highly creditable second place, narrowly losing out to Dromore HS but also defeating a number of high-powered teams along the way. In spite of defeat at the hands of eventual winners Dromore HS, the girls bounced back strongly with victories over Sullivan Upper 13/6, St. Joseph's 13/4, Strathearn 8/3 and Hunterhouse 11/9.
All girls played very competitively, with Mila Astruc-Kidd leading the attack as centre feeding the ball to Parisa Susay-Quinn, WA, and Hope Sherlock, GA. Hope worked together in the circle with Lucy McGrady, GS, to score a high tally of scores overall in the tournament. The defence was led by Niamh Watson who, along with Eve McNamara, Sophie Mayers and Lucy Shiells, managed to intercept many of the attacking shots. Well done too to our substitutes for their support and encouragement throughout the game: Annie Murray, Bridie Gribben, Kate Bradley and Charlotte McKerr.
A fantastic performance from all players and a great achievement!
