Mrs Doyle writes: “A great victory for the Junior Girls today against Sullivan Upper, winning 23 goals to 13. Shimna are now through to the semi-finals of the Shield.
The team trailed by three goals in the first quarter as they struggled to settle and play to their usual high level. By the end of the second quarter, they had levelled the score and we're leading 17 goals to 12 in the third and winning 23 to 13 at full time. All girls played very competitively with the main attacking players Mila Astruc Kidd and Parisa Susay-Quinn feeding the ball into shooters Hope Sherlock, Lucy Mc Grady and Kate Bradley.
The defence led by Lucy Shiells and Niamh Watson worked well with Sophie Mayers and Eve Mc Namara to limit Sullivan 's shooting opportunities. Annie Murray and Bridie Gribben assisted with the score keeping and motivating the girls throughout the game.
Well done to all the players!”
