On Friday, the Principal laid a wreath at a memorial to celebrated peace campaigner Gordon Wilson. The memorial, a plaque and a tree planted earlier this year, is situated just outside of Manorhamilton in County Leitrim.
Gordon Wilson, guest of honour when construction of the current school started at the Lawnfield site thirty years ago, performed the sod cutting on Friday 5th August 1994.
Gordon Wilson was a great man.
We thank his family for agreeing to our request to set up a memorial lecture in his name. The inaugural lecture is planned for the evening of Wednesday 29 November.
