Ms Rafferty writes: “Last week, twelve of our Year 10 students participated in a residential course as part of a cross-border project with three other schools: Newbridge Integrated College, Loughbrickland, St Louis in Dundalk and Patrician High School Carrickmacross.
The students attended Corrymeela, the peace and reconciliation retreat situated on the Antrim coast. The project is designed to build positive relationships and friendships between schools North and South of the border. It involved discussions around identity and theme of peace and war, as well as a celebration of our similarities and differences. The course also promoted mutual understanding through art, poetry, discussion and team-building activities.
It was a unforgettable experience for all involved, with new friendships have been forged between students and staff across the schools. We are looking forward to developing these links and working collaboratively over the next year.”
Thanks to Ms Rafferty and Davina Callen for organising and running the trip.
