Biology students connect with former student for careers advice

A Level Biologists have connected with one of our former students, Conor Poland, via a video call today. Conor, anAssociate Scientist with Macomics Limited, is carrying out exciting research in Edinburgh. Conor, who is working on developing precision medicines to control the immune system for the treatment of cancer. He very much enjoyed his time at Shimna and is keen to give something back.

 

Over the coming months, Conor will run an ‘Ask Me Anything’ (AMA) exercise, giving our Biologists the chance to seek advice and hear first-hand experiences from someone who carrying out world-leading research. It will also provide the students with a better understanding of the opportunities available in the scientific field post-graduation.
