Amnesty group organises fund-raiser to mark International Women’s Day

Ms McCurdy writes: “Congratulations to Sharon Archer for winning the Amnesty International raffle. To mark International Women's Day on 8 March, the group decided to raise funds for UN Women and their emergency appeal for women and girls in Afghanistan.  Though the status of women’s rights has deteriorated drastically under Taliban rule, UN Women continues to support women's organizations and women humanitarian workers delivering life-saving services.
